About Us

The double storefront space on Lincoln Avenue opened as Wise Fools Pub in 1968. Dave Hoekstra of the Chicago Sun Times wrote, “Wise Fools Pub is one of the most historic venues in the city, and for good reason.”  It was not unusual to walk in on a Wednesday night and find Muddy Waters’ band on stage.  Music legends such as Willie Dixon, Son Seals, KoKo Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, Buddy Guy and Mighty Joe Young left their mark here as well as George Thoroghgood in his first ever Chicago appearance.

The newly renovated stage, lights, and sound system will guarantee a live performance not soon forgotten.  Upon completion of the remodel in early Spring of 2008, we will have a grand reopening blow out in celebration of our 40th anniversary.

Whether you are interested in live music, sports, industry nights, pool, darts, bag tournaments or golden tee, we have it here at Wise Fools Pub.  Local and touring rock and roll musicians are sure to make a stop here; this site will have an updated list of all live performances.

We will update our site with upcoming events in the months to follow. You can also visit our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/wisefoolspubchicago.
